England Then is the pseudonym for Dan Seals, brother of Jim Seals of Seals & Crofts. They make traditional American music. The single sold well in the United States; He took out there the second place in the charts of Billboard Hot 100. The gentlemen had three music albums behind him when they got success with the album Nights are forever, which also was a success in Netherlands. B-side on the single was it's not the same. It is the only single from the gentlemen who took out the Dutch Top 40 .

The song was a number of times, of which the best known artist got covered Barry Manilow was.
