[edit] Biography
[edit] 2005-2007
Moving from various places around the Inland Empire area of California, in 2001, AJG moved to Reno, NV for a certain ammount of years. Although he says he didn't start writting lyrics until he met rappers Chris Burch & Infamy, he has said he had been influenced by music since a very young age. It was in Reno that he really got into writting verses and began talking with other rappers online. An online mixtape was talked of but never surfaced due to lack of effort.
In Summer of 2006 AJG officially recorded some of his work and when he moved back to Rialto, CA, he attended Rialto High School for his freshmen year. There he met rapper/CEO Exampl who heard his demo and credited him on his potential. In December of 2006, Exampl signed AJG to his indie label SB Records.
After being signed, AJG was introduced to the other members of SB Records including Ka$h & Espanto. During this year, Exampl had begun hyphing AJG's career by putting him on multiple mixtapes. With an underground scene underway AJG was to begin work on a debut album early 2008.
[edit] 2008
In 2008 AJG had announced that he been re signed with SB Records for another year in January and had signed the check for the debut album to take place. He confirmed recording was to start April and the beats and guestspots had already been paid for. The album is to be self-titled and is set for release August 26th, 2008.
The 1st single Paper Route was released June 1st. The song managed to debut at #1 on the Hyphy charts and peaked at #2 on the Main Hip-Hop Charts. The single has currently recieved massive airplay and has become hugley popular. Shortly after AJG once again topped the charts with 2 more #1 hits, So What's Good? and Paper Route Remix.
The 4th single was Love Me Like You Do, which was released due to massive attention for the song in early stages of the album and was out as an airplay single. The song peaked at #9 on main-genre and became AJG's 4th #1 hit single on the sub-genre category. The song was also voted the best song on AJG's cd through a poll on his myspace. Shortly after, AJG released Watch Me Do It on October 1st, however, had already gone up for adds on AJG's myspace and peaked at #6 prior an official release date. Originally planned to be Lookin At The Sky, it was rearranged due to lack of attention for the record. Watch Me Do It later managed to peak at #1 on the sub genre charts but only peaked at #15 on the main genre thus making it AJG's lowest charting mainstream single.
AJG has also confirmed he will be releasing a Like That Remix to promote his re-release of his debut due out November 25th.
