"Afternoon Delight" is a 1975 pop song written by Bill Danoff , performed by the Starland Vocal Band and released in 1976. The title was, apart from a sexually tinted allusion, also a reference to a then dish on the menu of a restaurant in Georgetown (near Washington DC). The song is the only hit of the Group (in Netherlands) remained, that was a one-hit wonder .
