André Kostelanetz (Russian: Андрей Костеланец) (Saint-Petersburg (Russia), 22 december 1901 - Port-au-Prince, (Haiti), 13 January 1980) was a popular American Orchestraconductor and arranger of Russian origin, one of the pioneers of easy listening music.

Kostelanetz was born in Russia and fled in 1922, after the Bolshevik Russian Revolution, the Communist State and arrived in the United Statesin the same year. In the early years in the USA he conducted radio concerts. In the 1930s he started his own weekly show on CBS Radio, "André Kostelanetz Presents".

Kostelanetz is best known to a wide audience the instrumental easy listening albums recorded on the Columbia label in the years 40 to 80. He continued withGramophone recordings after others, including even Mantovani, there already were stopped. He made many recordings during his career there and around the world sold over 50 million records of him.

One of his most famous works outside America was an orchestral arrangement of "With a song in my heart", the theme tune of a long-running BBCradio program.

Kostelanetz gave his last concert "A Night in Old Vienna" with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra in the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco on 31 december 1979.

Kostelanetz was the second husband of the soprano Lily Pons.

He died at the age of 78 due to pneumonia. He was cremated and his ashes were strewn over the sea.
