Annie MacManus (Annie Mac) (July 18, 1978Dublin) is an Irish television presenterand dj . It has its own electronic dance music show on BBC Radio 1 in the United Kingdom and a show along with Nick Grimshaw.

Biography[Edit][]

Annie Mac was born in DublinIreland. She studied English literature at Queens UniversityBelfast, in Northern Ireland. She lives in London with her friend and fellow radio 1 dj, Toddla T. Her brother (Mark McManus) was the lead singer and guitarist of The Crocketts.

Career[Edit][]

Annie presents a few shows on Radio 1. Her solo show, Annie Mac's Mash Up, on Friday evening at eight o'clock and her show along with Nick Grimshaw was first calledBBC Switch , but after this show was moved to eleven o'clock the name was changed to Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac.

A popular part of Annie Mac's Mash Up is The Annie Mac's minimix, a possibility for novice DJs to a five-minute mix with other DJs. This minimix show had its own first place on Thursday evening.

in 2009 Annie got an award for best female presenter on the Drum and Bass Awards for her contribution to the promotion of this music genre.
