[edit] Biography
Arista was founded in 1974 by mogul Clive Davis, and was bought by a chain of other labels, ending with Sony, and it's distributed by RCA. It had a lot of success, but its role in the Milli Vanilli scandal caused a stain on the label's repuation in the industry. Since, Arista has been rolled up with Sony's J label, though the Arista name is still used to put records out.
