Atomic Kitten is a ladies trio from LiverpoolUnited Kingdom, consisting of Natasha HamiltonElizabeth McClarnon and Kerry Katona. They existed between 1997 and 2008, and have been since 2012 doing a come-back.

1997-1999: early days[Edit]Edit

The band was in 1997 by Andy McCluskey of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark was established and consisted of the singers Elizabeth McClarnonKerry Katona andHeidi Range (later member of the Sugababes). Andy focused on writing the songs and the music. The band was first called "Honeyhead" but the name was later changed to "Automatic Kittens" and abbreviated as "Atomic Kitten". When Heidi Range in 1999 left the band, she was replaced by Natasha Hamilton.

1999-2008: breakthrough[Edit]Edit

In this formation the group scored its first hit in december 1999 in the United Kingdom with "Right Now". The associated album, also called Right Now, had a modest success. Atomic Kitten scored his first number one hit with "Whole again". In the song and the video for "Whole Again" originally did Kerry Katona, but they had just left the band in January 2001 because of her pregnancy and was replaced by Jenny Frost. The success was such that it was decided to include the video and the album again and also outside Great Britain to bring out. In the summer of 2001, Atomic Kitten also a number one hit in Netherlands with Whole again.

The next single, "Eternal Flame", a cover version of the hit from 1988 by The Bangles, who was not on the original album, is also a hit. There is soon recorded a new album, Feels So Good and the video for "it's Ok!", the first single, is recorded in South Africa. Although this single was reasonably successful, is the "Tide Is High (Get The Feeling)", a cover of the hit from 1980 of Blondie (originally number was from 1965 of The Paragons), with which they score a hit.

This was followed by still Be With You (based on a sample of Eles Last Train To London) and the for a Kool & The Gang- Ladies Nightincluded tribute album. But decided on 23 January 2004 Natasha take it easy and not in the spotlight for a while, because combining the bond with her private life became too much for her and she wanted to spend more time with her son. It was so not officially brought that Natasha quit or that the band stopped. They took only no record more on March 29, 2004 on would be their final single with Someone Like Me and as the b-side to the re-released Right Now 2004 come true. But in Britain there are since then released three more singles, re-releases of Cradle 2005 (2005), All Together Now (2006) and Anyone Who Had a Heart (2008). They were also in 2005 (I Wanna Be) Like Other Girls on the soundtrack of Disney's Mulan II. They were also once with this number during the Coca-Cola Soundwave Festival in Poland.

In december of 2006, the Group on The Nokia New year's Eve Music Festival in Hong Kong. The three girls from January 2007 would occur again and they would again plunge into the studios for new material for a fourth album. In april 2007 , a new single, namely Nothing In The World, come true. This single is also included on the album Ladies Night, but would be sung again. Yet this come-back was Later canceled.Afterwards there was a long silence, but in January of 2008, they were on The Number One Project in Liverpool. Hereinafter referred to as the three ladies decided to keep it anyway for seen and said they no media appearances more as Atomic Kitten were going to give.

2012-2013: reunion[Edit]Edit

In March of 2012 said Hamilton that the Group would meet again for a new tour, a new studio album and that they were in talks for its own reality show about their comeback. Hamilton was hoping that Kerry Katona would add to the three ladies. Although not immediately take their bait went the reunion by Katona related to feuds between Katona and Frost. Finally in October of the same year, disclosed that Atomic Kitten one of six pop groups is that will be on view at The Big Reunion. Go six well-known pop groups to work their comeback. In addition to Atomic kitten also do B * WitchedFive911Honeyz and Liberty X with it. Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon during the comeback will consist of, Natasha Hamilton and Jenny Frost Kerry Katona comes in place for. Frost was replaced by Katona due to her pregnancy. Hamilton and the other three girls come McClarnon hope Frost as they there again ready.
