This is another outstanding EP from They Might Be Giants. It's technically the "Snail Shell" EP, but I guess they couldn't resist the skull based pun, given the cover art theme for this EP and John Henry. The Dust Brothers remix is surpisingly strong. Also, be wary not to confuse "She Was A Hotel Detective with (She Was A) Hotel Detective -- they're COMPLETELY different songs, the newer one being sort of a Part II (by John Linnell) to the earlier song (by John Flansburgh). "Ondine" is another great song definitely worth hearing, and the accordion-driven "Mrs. Train" is a fan-favorite. If there is a weak link, it's the A-side, "Snail Shell" one of the odder choices for a leading single from John Henry. But it's still an OK song, and this EP is definitely worth checking out (and it's one of the few that seems to still be relatively easy to find, despite being very out of print.) - Rev.
