Artist: Graham Parker

Album: Songs Of No Consequence

Appears On (Mixes): Plastic Music Exchange 2006 - Rev. DOG.

Song Notes: I've been turned on to Graham Parker by another Plastard who gave me a bunch of his stuff after we talked a bit about Elvis Costello and how he'd never really gotten into him that much, preferring Graham Parker. They're very similar musicians, and this is from his most recent album. Sadly, I tend to think Graham Parker's lost "it" over the years, but, then again, I've been less enamoured of Elvis' recent projects too. (However, the new single, "Tears, Tears And More Tears" he's done with Allen Toussaint is fucking OUTSTANDING, and I'm thinking I'm going to have to pick up that record when it comes out.) Songs Of No Consequence is sadly really uneven, but this is one of the better cuts. If you dig this, though, I'd recommend checking out his earlier stuff rather than this album. -Rev.
