Biography[]

Sometimes referred to as "The House They Might Be Giants Built", Bar/None was founded in 1986, initially to release a one-off Polka compilation, then fold, although founder Glenn Morrow's wife, Margaret Seiler convinced him to put out the debut release by They Might Be Giants before closing down the label, which he agreed to. Then, of course, the record became a hit, and the label continued, picking up more and more acts (many discovered by They Might Be Giants as well, like Otis Ball and Brian Dewan) and becoming one of the larger indie labels.
