Believe is a song by American singer Cher. The song reached the number 1 position in the Dutch Top 40 approximately 32 years after her latest No. 1 hit. The single Believe, along with the album, led to a short-lived come-back of the then 52-year-old singer.

The song, which in a light dance-twist was, was characterized by twisting Chers voice through vocoder. The producer of the song, Mark Taylor, as a test of such a device would have edited the vocals. Cher would have found it so fantastic, that they wanted to use, Believe it decides in which Angers her record company.

The single became a worldwide number-one hit, after which the use of vocoders in pop music rose strongly.
