First things first, none of the members are Brazilian and there is only one girl, who is actually a new addition. Who are they then? Three pop-jazz performers from the East Village who have a yearning for lazy samba groovess, quality drum programming and a multi-lingual (5 in all) world-worn vocalist who sounds like a South American princess. It’s an interesting yet kind of cliché line-up that just screams adult contemporary jazz. And the truth is that’s basically how they sound save for a few bright moments mostly lead by the programming. In my opinion it is way too polished and overproduced. With more raw instrumentation and a good dose of unpredictability this could be an excellent album, but the truth of it is that is sounds like a record for the adventurous customer of adult-contemporary pop-jazz.
