Artist: Kirsty MacColl
Album: Titanic Days
Appears On (Mixes): Revme.Vox.Com
Song Notes: This is a really cool, dark track from Kirsty MacColl's pentultimate album Titanic Days. I believe this one was one of the ones she wrote with Johnny Marr from the Smiths, and it's pretty rad. Titanic Days was a bit of a darker album for her—this song and "Bad" particularly, but a lot of the record's got a sadder theme to it in general, as it was after her marriage to Steve Lilywhite fell apart. This song is just a character sketch, though, and as far as I know, not actually based on anything in particular. But it's still one of my favorites from this brilliant album. This is one of those albums that I cannot recommend highly enough. If you like Kirsty MacColl, or just exquisite, highly literate pop music, you really NEED this album. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
