Cartoons is a "technobilly" pop band from Denmark. They are best known for the song ' Doodah ' that was a big hit in several European countries as well as their cover of the song Witch Doctor Ross Bagdasarian 's from 1999. Also they fell on by their weird plastic costumes and wigs that American rock and roll stars from the fifties of the twentieth century have to suggest. The hits that they had were Europop covers of old rockabillyhits.
The sextet uses the artists names Toonie, Sponge, Shooter, Buzz, Puddy and Boop. The first record label to which they were connected was Flex Records. Later they moved to EMI Denmark.
Their most well-known song from 1999, Witch Doctor in the United Kingdom reached number 2. The song is characterized by the text "ooh-ee-ooh-aah-aah", with a dance beat and occasional guitar chords. Hence the number is also relatively small music flow "technobilly" counted. The song also was a reasonable success In Netherlands. It was ten weeks in the Dutch Top 40 and finally came to place 12.
They also had success In the United Kingdom with the song Doodah, that came to be in the top 10, and the number Aisy Waisy, which reached the top 20. These songs were not hit in Netherlands. The album reached the Top 20 Album, Toonage .
On the other hand, In Belgium. Both Witch Doktor Doodah and were big hits. Aisy Waisy is barely known in Belgium.
