Christie was formed in 1969 by singer Jeff Christie, guitarist Vic Elmes and drummer Mike Blakley. In 1969 they released the hit from Yellow River . A hit that Jeff Christie had first offered to the band The Tremeloes. The song was number one in 26 countries. Also their next single San Bernadino still took out the top of the charts inGermany and a 7th place in the United States. The band underwent in the course of the 1970s still different group changes. The Group held to exist in 1976. Jeff Christie again In 1990 formed a group with 3 new members. They took part in the preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1991, but failed. In 2009 the Group finally stopped with existence.
