Deerhunter is an American indie rock band, which in 2001 in Atlanta was founded by lead singer Bradford Cox and drummer Moses Archuleta. [1]

Deerhunter's debut album, Turn It Up Faggot, was published in January 2005 by Stickfigure Records. This album was about half a year earlier in two days in a studio inAthens. In 2004 it was dedicated to the deceased Deerhunter bassist Justin Bosworth, the first. [2]

In January 2007 was the second studio album, entitled Cryptograms, released by Kranky Records. At the end of August 2007, guitarist Colin Mee farewell to the band. He left because of the busy schedules of the tire and the increased media attention. [3in May 2008 was replaced by Whitney Petty. [4The writing and recording of the music ofCryptograms took two years to complete, but the subsequent period the Group was more productive. A half year later appeared the Fluorescent Grey ep and in 2008 began Cox to his solo career. [5under the pseudonym brought Atlas Sound he Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See but Cannot Feel out. Also appeared In that year two albums of Deerhunter Microcastle , and Weird Era cont., which in some cases were released as a double album .

The solo career of guitarist Lockett Pundt commence an album in 2009 took The Floodlight Collective, that he made under the name Lotus Plaza. The first recordings of this album took place already in 2007. [6on June 8, 2009 appeared the second ep by Deerhunter, Rainwater Cassette Exchange. [7]

On september 28, 2010, the studio album Halcyon Digest. It is the first album that is issued mainly by 4AD . Kranky Records gives it only in the United States from. The song "Revival" was used as the first single , with "Primitive 3D" as b-side.
