Down on the Corner "is a song by Creedence Clearwater Revival, from the album Willy and the Poor Boys in 1969. It was released as a single in september 1969, together with Fortunate Son. [1the song tells the story of the fictional band Willy and the Poor Boys, that enliven and passers-by on the street money by singing. [2Writer John Fogerty sings all the pieces in the song, but the record itself has repeatedly to create a polyphonic effect. [3]

The number peaked at 20 december 1969 on the third position in the Billboard Hot 100. It stayed fifteen weeks in the u.s. Chart stand. [4In the Dutch Single Top 100 came Down on the Corner on the same date at number 20. It remained for seven weeks in the list and gave up three runs in the top 10, with the peak position the eighth place on 17 January 1970. In the Flemish charts the song reached the 17th position. [5]
