Edmundo RosEdmundo William Ros in full (Port of Spain7 december 1910 - AlicanteOctober 22, 2011) was a musician and band leader from Trinidad & Tobago.

Biography[Edit][]

Ros was born in Port of Spain in 1910. His mother came from Venezuela, his father from Scotland. During his military service he already played in a band. In 1937 he moved to London to study classical music . Already in 1938 , he played with Fats Waller. In 1940 he formed his own Rumba band. Between 1944 and 1974 he took over 800 numbers on at Decca Records. His band played mostly in London, especially for high society. From 1946 he was owner of a private club in London.

Ros received several awards. In 2000, he became officer in the order of the British Empire. He died in 2011 at 100 years of age.
