Foo Fighters are an American alternative rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1995, originally as a solo project by Dave Grohl, former drummer of Nirvana. Over the years, they have become one of the most influential rock bands of their era.
Band Biography[]
Following the dissolution of Nirvana, Dave Grohl formed Foo Fighters in 1995. The band's name, taken from the term used by WWII pilots to describe unidentified flying objects, symbolizes Grohl's shift from drummer to frontman. Initially a solo project, Grohl recruited a full band lineup, leading to a diverse and evolving sound over numerous albums and tours.
