General Stone is an up and coming three-piece blues-rock band based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
General Stone was formed in 2003 from the ashes of former band The Marked Men. The band is made up of lead guitarist and vocalist Ryan Paradis, bass player Jeff Clark and drummer Rashad Debeer. Both Clark and Debeer provide backup vocals. Band influences include The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers Band and The Black Crowes.
In 2004, the band released their first self-titled demo CD. It includes the three songs: Blind, Jo and Not About Loving You. The disc was recorded by notable Winnipeg producers Neil Cameron (The Watchmen) and Lloyd Peterson (The Weakerthans).
The group has hit the studio again since and will be releasing it's first full-length album in the near future. While the group has been praised by critics for their recorded tunes, most fans believe the real treat is seeing the boys perform live. Described by one area critic as a "captivating and electrifying rock adventure", General Stone has promised from day one never to play the same song twice. The music director at Winnipeg's 92.9 KICK FM was so impressed by the band's live in studio performance that he immediately added them to their playlist.
