Georges Delerue (Roubaix12 March 1925 – Los AngelesMarch 20, 1992) was a French composer of film music.

Georges Delerue composed more than 250 pieces of music for film and television. Five times during his career he was nominated for the Oscar for best film music. With his music in the romantic comedy A Little Romance (1979) by George Roy Hill , he won the price actually. He has composed music for films by François TruffautJean-Luc GodardAlain ResnaisLouis MalleBernardo BertolucciFred ZinnemannMike NicholsJohn HustonGeorge Cukor and Oliver Stone. He died of a heart attack at the age of 67.
