Goldfrapp is a British electronic music duo from BathEngland. The group consists of:

While they are still at the Middlesex University , Alison Goldfrapp already acted on sat on the debut album Maxinquaye (1995) from a friend, Tricky, and she sang onOrbitals album Snivilisation. When she began writing her own music, were her demos by friends to the composer Will Gregory passed. Because they shared the same musical tastes and interests they decided to form a duo under Alisons last name.

In 1999 the duo signed a contract with the London label Mute Records and released their debut album in 2000 , Felt Mountain out. The album, produced by PJ Harveysproducer John Parish, consists of Alisons vocals, partly changed by synthesizers. The album is influenced by various styles such as synth pop from the 80 's, classic film music and traditional folk music. In 2001 , the album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

In 2003 the band released their second album, Black Cherry, out. The album sent Goldfrapps sound in a completely different direction, with hefty drum hits and a Wilder look. A number of songs from the album were used in commercials, such as "Strict Machine" and "Train" for the release of the Game Boy Advance SP, "TipToe" for Coca-Cola and "Twist" for Gancia. "Strict Machine" was also used for the fragrance "Night" by Armani. The song "Crystalline Green" came in the television series House over.

After the success in 2004 was a ep released under the name Wonderful Electric in which four live tracks, recorded at Somerset House and Shepherds Bush Empire are. There are also several songs on that are not yet released to date.

Goldfrapps website In 2003 got a price of MTV Europe Music Award for best website. Currently, the website is no longer in the award-winning form, as he completely changed with the release of Goldfrapps third album Supernature. The album was released on 22 August 2005 and continues on the same path with Black Cherry . Supernature contains many glamrockinvloedendisco-and very audible on the first single "Ooh La La", which was Goldfrapps biggest hit. Later came the singles "Number 1", "Ride a White Horse" and "Fly Me Away" from. The album fared well commercially in Europe and particularly in the United Kingdom (No. 2 in UK Albums Chart). On 7 March 2006 , the album was issued in the United States , where it rose to no. 5 in Top Electronic Albums and no. 3 in Top Heatseekers. Also nominated for best Alternative Group in 2005 is Goldfrapp/artist on the MTV Europe Music Awards.
