Song Notes: "Good" is sort of a Japanese Pop Classic song by The Plastics, often thought of as the Japanese DEVO (at least before POLYSICS took that title). The song has been covered by a few Japanese acts, including POLYSICS and Pizzicato 5. The Plastics only had one LP in the US (though they did have a video shown on SCTV), and were pretty obscure (after the first time I saw POLYSICS and we were talking to their Japanese roadie, he was floored that we knew who The Plastics were). The Pizzicato 5 version is surprisingly faithful to the original, although a little more lush, as were P5's way. This is from The Sound Of Music By Pizzicato Five in the US (it was a compilation album; in Japan it was on Romantique 96. Unfortunately, they broke up in 2001, although Nomiya Maki, the singer, has released a solo album (though it's not nearly as good as P5), and Konishi Yasuharu, the songwriter/producer continues to do production work (including some work with Puffy AmiYumi), and that actually tends to sound a lot like his work with P5; unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have any solo albums or compilations of his production work available, so you typically have to stumble across his stuff (I've done that a couple times with Puffy's Spike and a 12" of remixes of Frank Chickens' "We Are Ninja (Not Geisha)". Still though, this is a really great song, and a good place to end things. I love Pizzicato 5, and this song is one of the best. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
