Artist: Napoleon XIV

Album: The Second Coming

Appears On (Mixes): Wally's Novelty Mix: She Yo-Yos Me and I Yo-Yo Her Back

Song Notes: This song was actually recorded for the first (and, really, only) Napoleon XIV album, They're Coming To Take Me Away Ha-Haaa!, but it was cut at the last moment for being too dark. It was originally shelved for a follow-up album (which was about half-recorded before being abandoned), and so it never came out until Rhino's CD retrospective The Second Coming. The original album has been called the Sgt. Pepper's of novelty records, as it was a concept album, with all the songs about mental illness. This song is no exception, except where the other songs were of the more ripe-for-comedy types of mental illness (mostly your garden-variety "crazy", like you see in movies and whatnot), this one was about Bi-Polar Disorder/Manic-Depressiveness, and, well, as such, it's a lot darker. Apparently, they recorded the sound effect at the end themselves by throwing a stuffed duffel out of a 3rd floor window. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
