Harpopseudonym of Jan Torsten Svensson (Stockholm5 april 1950) is a Swedish singer.

In the early 1970s he began making music. Svensson used the pseudonym Harpo and brings under that name the song Movie star , which is a big hit in 1975. The song is about someone who thinks a very big star, but in reality only has acted in a tv commercial. The background singer in this song is Anni-Frid Lyngstad, later known for ABBA.Svensson will the success of Movie star never even approach, but why he often is regarded as a one-hit wonder , even though he continues to occur until after 2000. In 2005 he released yet another new, but some entirely in English, album.

Svensson later concentrated on the breeding of horses. This is going to be well off him and he is very successful in this box. In the course of his trade he gets a horrible accident in 1980 as one of his horses kicks him in the face several times. By this accident he loses his sense of smell and sight in one of his eyes.
