Biography[]
Founded by the brother of Police drummer Stewart Copeland, I.R.S. (or International Record Syndicate) was one of the biggest and most known indie labels of the punk/new wave era. They often distributed records from overseas labels as well and had a good reach, thanks to their deal with A&M (and later MCA). In 1994, EMI bought them, and closed the label in 1996.
