Artist: David Byrne

Album: Unreleased

Appears On (Mixes): Revme.Vox.Com

Song Notes: Yes, this IS the Whitney Houston song and no, it actually doesn't suck. Well, OK, HER version sucks. It sucks ass, in fact. However, David Byrne actually does the song justice, which is odd, considering that you woudln't expect this song to, well, deserve justice. But there you go. David Byrne's said that on every tour, he likes to choose one unexpected song to cover, usually a trashy and/or schmaltzy pop song, and kind of dress it up and actually celebrate the quality of the song which people might not realize due to the terrible form the most common version takes. And, well, this is actually really, really cool. This particular performance is unreleased, but a different one is available on the wonderful DVD, Live At Union Chapel, which also features an absolutely gorgeous version of "This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)". - Rev.
