[edit] Genre Description

Industrial music is a bit of an extension from Musique Concrete, a Classical genre which uses found sounds and noise to make music. Industrial typically applies those techniques to rock. Often, Industrial tends to be binned with metal and/or electronica, and both of those genres have similarities to Industrial, though Industrial is typically harsher than both. In the 1990s, there was a bit of a mainstream popularity with pop-industrial music like Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails; though the fad has died down, there are still many of these bands that are enjoying popularity. Industrial music typically combines sampled noises with synthesizers and distorted guitars.
