J.J. Cale, born John Weldon Cale (Oklahoma City5 december 1938 – La JollaJuly 26, 2013), was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He grew up in Tulsa,Oklahoma located also in the State. He was best known for two songs, played by Eric Clapton After Midnight and Cocaine. J.J. Cale was the most famous interpreter of theTulsa Sound.

Biography[Edit]Edit

His stage name ' J.J. Cale ' (some sources call him Jean Jacques Cale) he got from a nightclub owner in Los Angeles since there is a John Cale was active. Under the instigation of Leon Russell and other musicians from Tulsa Cale ventured the jump to the L.A. music scene Destitute of money and illusions, he returned to Tulsa. From there he would nonetheless garner most fame.

Cale died in the evening of July 26, 2013 at the age of 74, to a heart attackat a hospital in La Jolla in the State of California. [1]

The Trademark[Edit]Edit

His trademark was the so-called laid back-sing. This is just after the tel bet. In addition it was Cale, by serving in the air force, handy with electronics produced his own music and his recordings had a specific sound.Part of this is the dubbing of the vocals and a languid, understated atmosphere.
