Jason Donovan (MelbourneJune 1, 1968) is an Australian actor, singer and musical star.

Donovan is the son of actor and Director Terence Donovan and television presenter Sue McIntosh.

In 1986, he began his career in the soap opera 'Neighbours' on the side of Kylie Minogue. In 1987 he won for his role as Scott Robinson the Logie Award for ' most popular actor ' and ' best new Talent '.

Minogue was already started her career in pop music, when Donovan also signed a contract with the Stock, Aitken & Waterman , PWL label. His first single "Nothing can divide us" was soon released. His singing career was launched, but it was only with his duet with Kylie ' Especially for you ' that his fame as a singer came big off the ground.

Donovan left ' Neighbours ' in 1989. After that, he was seen in the movie ' Heroes ', for which he received in 1990 the Logie Award for ' most popular actor in a Mini series ' got.

In 1989 took up ' Too many broken hearts ', he had his first solo number-one hit. There followed another single ' Sealed with a kiss '. His debut album Ten Good Reasons ' went smoothly over the counter. He soon became one of the best-selling artists ever. He won the 1989 Smash Hits Award for ' Britain's Best Album ' and ' best singer '.

Also his second album ' Between The Lines ', with the hits ' When you come back to me "and" Rhythm of the rain ' did well. He again got a Smash Hits Award, this time for the ' best singer of 1990 '.

In 1991, Donovan the musical tour on. he got the lead role in the Andrew Lloyd Webbermusical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' in 1991. The musical ran in a total of 2.5 years and attracted an audience of two million people. Donovan was the highest earning artist in the history of London's West End. One of the songs from the musical ' Any dream will do ' was released as a single and became a number one hit.

The same year, a ' Greatest Hits ' album. This was the chapter Stock, Aitken and Waterman closed.

In 1992 published The magazine The Face statements about Donovans orientation. Then he challenged the magazine to court and won the case. To prevent the magazine on the bottle would go, he refused the compensation.

Donovan signed a contract In 1992 with Polydor Records. He released a new album ' All Around The World ' with the singles ' Mission of love ' and ' As time goes by '. The album sold well, but the big success.

Donovan spent three weeks In november 2006 in the Australian jungle for the 6th series of ' I'm A Celebrity ...Get Me Out Of Here '. By his composure and sense of humor he earned the nickname ' Mr Dependable '.Eventually he finished in third place.

In May 2007 he toured Great Britain with its ' All The Hits And more ' tour. He brought out an autobiography in book form in 2007 and a concert dvd.

At the beginning of 2008 was to see Donovan in the British television series ' Echo Beach ' on ITV1. He popped up again In March the studio his new album ' Let it Be Me ', which was released on 10 november 2008.At the end of 2008, he again went on a concert tour of Great Britain.

In 2009/2010 was to see Jason Donovan as ' Mitzi ' in London West End musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Palace Theatre).

In 2010/2011 Jason Donovan played the role of The Artilleryman in Jeff Wayne's The War Of The Worlds-Alive On Stage-The 2010-11 Tour. During the 2012-2013 tour he played the role of Parson Nathaniel.
