Biography[Edit]Edit

Walsh sat in various bands during his time as a student at the Kent State University. He got only in 1969 as lead guitarist of the band The James Gang what greater fame.In 1971 , he left the band to start a solo career.

The first solo works by Walsh, Barn storm from 1972 and the successor to The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get by 1973, underlined his status as innovative rock musician. His dry humor and his status as a ' party animal ' often found the way to his numbers. Several songs were known by radio, such as Rocky Mountain Way, that still holds true as a classic in the genre of classic rock.

After a studio and a live-album, was Walsh in 1976 invited to to the group to join The Eagles , where he replaced the departing guitarist Bernie Leadon . Walsh performed at the Eagles in a harder sound and was heavily Commission determines the style of the very successful album Hotel California. When the Eagles a few years later in order to run seemed to start again, Walsh began solo projects. His albums But Seriously Folks (1978) and There Goes The Neighborhood (1981) sold very well. He took a few more albums during the 1980s on, but musical trends to him went over. Until the reunification of the Eagles and their common tour in the late 1990s saw and heard little from him.

By its versatility on both the acoustic and electric guitar, as a supporting or lead guitarist Joe Walsh was also a welcome guest at performances of other artists. He worked at live performances and studio recordings including Dan Fogelberg and Steve Winwood. In addition, he briefly appeared in the movie The Blues Brothers .

Joe is also active as a radio ham radio, with the call WB6ACU. Often heard in AM at 80 meter band.
