Kathy Kirby (Ilford (Essex), October 20, 1938 - London19 may 2011) was a popular British singer from the 1960s and 1970s. Her real name is Kathleen O'Rourke.

Its phenomenal soprano voice was noticed early on and it was thought that they would make career in the opera. She learned to know and bandleader Ambrosestarted in his band to play, that she would do, Ambrose was her manager 3 years until his death in 1971.

She took the image of blonde bombshell, such as Marilyn Monroe. Her looks, lip gloss and powerful voice were her trademark. Between 1963 and 1965 , she had several Top 20 hits in the UK, her best-known is Secret Love.

She appeared in two television series and also sang a theme song of a series in. She represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 with I belong, she was 2nd.

Her star extinguished in the late 60 's, though she took 12 more singles and an album on between 1967 and 1973, no single became a hit. The death of her manager Ambrose was a heavy shock for her. In 1977 she left again is stirring when it became known that she was bankrupt.

She retired from show business and returned occasionally again.

In 2005 she came back with an official website and a biography called Secrets, Loves and lip gloss. She lived until her death in 2011 in London.
