Katrina & the Waves was a pop rock band from the 80 's and 90 's. Their biggest hit in Netherlands & Belgium was Love Shine A Light.

Genesis[Edit]Edit

Katrina Leskanich in Cambridge in 1981 formed the group, which they left in 1999 . Guitarist Kimberley Rew which played at the Soft Boys .

In 1985 they received the Grammy Award for best new artist after them with Walking on sunshine had a hell of a hit.

A few years afterwards it remained quiet around the group, but in 1997 they hear again when she represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest, which they won with flying colors, they cited the then highest score ever with their song ' Love shine a light ', by 10 times to score 12 points.

Six years after the break-up of the group tried to repeat her Eurovision success, as Katrina Katrina and the new Wave , she wrote in 2005for Melodifestivalen , in an attempt to to represent Sweden . They did not qualify to the final, but could still second chances in a tweedekansronde, unfortunately they failed here too. She performed well as Katrina and the Nameless protested after the original Waves.
