Kurt Vile (PhiladelphiaJanuary 3, 1980) is an American musician, singer and producer. He amassed most known for his solo work and as a former guitarist of indie rock band The War On Drugs. He is both in the studio and on the stage by his band The violators, currently among others consists of multi-instrumentalists Jesse Trbovich and Rob Laakso and drummer Kyle Spence.

Inspired by PavementBruce SpringsteenNeil YoungTom Petty and John Fahey Vile began his musical career with making lo-fi recordings from his own home, often together with Adam Granduciel. The duo started when the band together The War On Drugs, after which in 2008 the debut album Wagonwheel Blues was released.
