Background[Edit]Edit

The single of Ritchie Valens consists of the title track and the romantic ballad Donna as the b-side. It was the second single from the singer. The title track is a Spanish-language uptempo rock and rollsong the text of which derived from an eponymous song from the Mexican folklore. After the release reached Valens ' interpretation of the song in 1958 the 22nd position in the u.s. charts. It was then the only non-English song included in the list drawn up by Rolling Stone of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in which it is at number 345.
