The Beatles[Edit]Edit

Let it be is a song by the British rock band The Beatles, written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. McCartney said that the idea for "Let It Be" came after a dream about his mother during a tense period while working on the White Album. The phrase "Mother Mary" what is in the song is sung by people in the past seen as a reference to the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus of Nazareth. According to McCartney was "Mother Mary" when he wrote the song no biblical reference but was the inspiration his mother Mary, who when he was fourteen years died of cancer. [1He then assured his fans that that are free to interpret it as they would like. [2On January 2, 1969 The Beatles started with the recordings of their new film in the Twickenham Film Studios. [3During these recordings The Beatles exerted new material for their new LPLet It Be was one of these new songs. The atmosphere in the Group was during these recordings, however, very tense and the group members regularly argued among themselves. [3for example, As George Harrison left on 10 January the set and shared the remaining band members that he went left the group. A short time later, Harrison was persuaded to return, but the film project was soon discontinued. [3[4the recordings for the new LP then went further on 22 January in the Applestudio-Office.

On January 25 and January 26, names The Beatles Let It Be on some versions of the Apple Studios. [5Although the original idea for the new Beatles movie by now had been abandoned, were recorded on 30 and 31 January yet again. On 30 January The Beatles played some of the songs live on the roof of the Apple Office. These shots are also seen in the Let It Bemovie. [6three songs, however, were not suitable for playing in the open air: The Long and Winding RoadTwo of Us and Let It Be. [7]therefore, on 31 January film recordings made during the recording of these three numbers. On that day, nine versions of The Beatles Let It Be recorded by[8]. A few months later, on 30 april, was continued with the ' best ' recording of 31 January. This was a lead gitaarpartij added. [9The Beatles went almost a year later before continuing with the shots for Let It Be. On January 4, George Harrison and Paul McCartney 1970 first sang the backing vocals for the song in. Then, composed by George Martin was here, a party for two trumpets, two trombones and a saxophone added. Finally, there were still gitaarpartij a new lead (played by Harrison), drums (played byRingo Starr), maracas (played by McCartney) and a cello part added to the recordings. [10]

Single edit and album version[Edit]Edit

The single release version of Let It Be different from the version on the LP of the same name. A clear difference is the shorter duration of the single version (3: 50 for the single and 4: 10 for the LP-version). In addition, differences the guitar solos. On the single version is to hear the guitar solo on 30 april 1969, while on the LP version the solo can be heard from 4 January 1970. [10a final difference between the two versions is the echo that to hi-hat has been added for the version on the LP. [11 The cause of all this lies in the fact that two producers were involved in the versions: George Martin was responsible for the mix of the single version, while the mix of Phil Spector for the album version. [11]
