Lisa Jane Stansfield (Heywood (Greater Manchester), 11 april 1966) is a British singer-songwriter, who in the late 80s and early 90s some big hits scored.
At the age of fourteen she won a talent contest organised by a local newspaper, after which they could make her television debut.
In 1983, she formed together with two girlfriends from school the group Blue Zone. Their first single On Fire was initially popular, but was withdrawn from the market after a major fire on the King's Cross London underground station.
The big break came In 1989, when Stansfield People hold on the number of Coldcut if warming up. This song was a major international hit, after which Stansfield a solo career. Her first single All Around the World became a number one hit in early 1990 Netherlands . Later, there were some smaller hits. In 1990, 1991 and 1992 , she won a Grammy Award for best female newcomer and best female artist (2 x).
After a silence of almost 9 years, she released her album Seven on January 31, 2014 in Netherlands and Belgium out.
