Macy Gray (born Natalie Renee McIntyre on september 6, 1967 , to CantonOhio) is an American neo soul/R & B singer, songwriter and actress.

Under the name Macy Gray Natalie brought so far five studio albums, a live album and a compiled album.

Macy Gray has played in several films, including Scary Movie 3, Training Day and Spider-Man. Gray's biggest hit is the song I Try.

Gray's career began after her move to Los Angeles in 2000. "I've committed murder" and "Why don't you call me?" were there small hits.

In 2001 won the Grammy Award for best female Gray contribution (Pop) for "I try", which also was nominated for the best song and best production of the year. She then went to work with Fatboy Slim (on Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars), The Black Eyed Peas and Slick Rick ("The World Is Yours" by the Rush Hour 2 soundtrack), as well as acting in Training Day. Gray was booed in 2001 because they forgot the text of the national anthem. Around that time was also released her new album The Id .Along with the bad timing (the attacks of 11 september had just occurred), the controversy for bad results of the album. In 2002 she was a to see himself in the Spider-Manfilm and she worked with Santana on his album Shaman. In 2003 she released her album The Trouble With Being Myself out.

Gray was from 1996 to 1998 married to Tracy Hinds; they had two children. Recently she opened a music school, entitled "The Macy Gray Music Academy".
