[edit] Band Biography
Martin Denny is most known for his tiki-tinged exotica records (including the seminal album of that title). He gave Arthur Lyman his start, and another of his sidemen later worked with Herb Alpert. Sometimes he is thought of as a bit square, although he had some innovative experimentation on his records, including an early embrace of the Moog synthesizer. Many of his albums are out of print, although some are much easier to find than others (Exotic Moog, for one, can go for in the neighborhood of 50-100 dollars). He died last year in his home in Hawaii.
