[edit] Band Biography
Matmos are perhaps most known for their work with Björk on the Vespertine and Medulla albums and the Greatest Hits Tour, where they provided much of the backing along with harpist Zeena Perkins and a Greenlandic choir. Much of their work involves re-interpreting samples and using found recordings to make often minimalist electronica; for example, their production work on Vespertine mostly used sounds from nature, like flowers opening and sounds made by insects, and their album A Chance To Cut Is A Chance To Cure is made out of samples taken from plastic surgeries. (Sorry for ruining that album for you and making you feel vaguely nauseated when you listen to it now.)
