Review: This is considered one of the least essential Björk albums (at least until Drawing Restraint 9 came out -- ecch), but it's really not as bad as all that. Of course, I have to admit, that while when I listen to it, I enjoy it, it's not typically one I go back to. This album was created almost entirely out of vocals and vocal samples -- and as such, it's kind of in the more "Interesting Experiment" bin than the "Awesome Record" bin, but it IS surprisingly listenable. "Triumph Of A Heart" is surprisingly poppy, at least for Björk. In a weird sort of way, Medúlla almost feels like Vespertine Part II, but I thought Vespertine was a much, much more successful record and experiment. I tend to go back to Vespertine quite a bit, where Medúlla not nearly as much. Still, though, it doesn't quite deserve the bad rap this album's gotten. It's not Post, but it's not, well, Drawing Restraint 9 either. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
