Midnight Confessions:The Fastbacks
From Your Subculture Soundtrack, the music encyclopedia
Artist: The Fastbacks
Album: ...And His Orchestra/Every Day Is Saturday
Appears On (Mixes): Past The Barber and Gymnasium
Song Notes: One of my favorite things about The Fastbacks is, as Kurt Bloch mentions in the liners to Truth, Corrosion and Sour Bisquits, their love of 1970s AM Radio Pop-Rock, leading them to cover a lot of these kinds of songs (including their wonderful version of "Go All The Way" by The Raspberries). Luckily, Kurt's taste in 1970s AM Pop Rock seems to coincide pretty well with mine, so there's songs like The Grass Roots' "Midnight Confessions" from 1968, where I love both The Fastbacks' version and the original. This is from ...And His Orchestra, a CD compiling the first LP and some early EPs (technically, this was originally on Every Day Is Saturday, a 4-song EP from 1984). - Rev. Syung Myung Me
