Artist: Ray Stevens
Appears On (Mixes): Past The Barber and Gymnasium
Song Notes: I think this is the only Grammy-winning song on here. Ray Stevens won a Grammy for "Best Arranger" in 1975 on this arrangement. The song was originally by the Erroll Garner Trio, though many people recorded it. I love this version of it; the banjo stuff on it is really cool, and so are the fiddles. Ray Stevens wrote a lot of his own stuff; he's mostly known for his novelty songs like "Ahab the Arab" or "The Streak", but he also wrote "Everything Is Beautiful". Oddly enough, Ray Stevens also had a cut on "Sunday Morning Coming Down", but it didn't do anything chart-wise (though that wouldn't be his only Kris Kristofferson song; he also recorded a novelty cover of "Help Me Make It Through The Night", which did much better, sales-wise). - Rev.
