This wiki is currently being reorganised to make it easier and less confusing to edit.

Anyone can help with this by helping completing the tasks below. These all vary in time to complete, with some probably taking up to a few months of regular editing.

Short TasksEdit

Merging Lists (days/a week)Edit

Most of the list pages need to be reorganised.

• Short lists can be merged onto their corresponding genre page and then marked for deletion.
• On the genre pages the headings below should be used:

==Artists in this genre==

==Labels in this genre==

• The longer of the lists should be moved to the format "List of <Genre> Artists" or "List of <Genre> Labels" with a {{main}} link on the genre page to the list.

Cleaning up (days)Edit

The job would involve

• Going through red/uncreated categories to see if they are needed and editing the pages to change the category if they are not.
• Checking category:cleanup and category:Candidates for revision and help in cleaning up these pages

Help/contribute to the music wiki in another language (days)Edit

The idea behind this would be to help set up a music wiki in another language if it is abandoned/ idle, and you understand the language. See Template:Languages for all the different languages that the music wiki already exists in and where you can help.

Moving Soundtracks(a week or two)Edit

Pages in the soundtrack category use the format [[name:soundtrack]]. This needs to be changed to the new format [[Soundtrack:name]]. This can be done by page moves, the redirect can then be deleted.

Moving Essays(days)Edit

Pages in the essay category used the format [[name:essay]]. This needs to be changed to [[Essay:name]] This can be done by page moves, the redirect can then be deleted.

Category renaming (weeks)Edit

Many existing categories need to be pluralised, unfortunately its not as simple as moving them! The new pluralised category has to be created and then all of the pages in the existing category edited to the new category. The process can be speeded up by using the Pywikipediabot script movepages.py but the server is prone to lagging. Below is a list a category's to be pluralised:

Articles renaming (many months)Edit

All articles need to be moved in line with the new naming style. This has yet to be decided (see Forum:Article links).
