Nicholas Drain Lowe (Walton-on-Thames24 March 1949) is a British singer-songwriter and producer. He wrote among other things "(what's So Funny ' Bout) Peace, Love, and understanding," which became a hit for Elvis Costello, and "Cruel to be kind". His biggest hit in the Benelux was "Half a Boy and Half a Man"(1984), a song he played in customized version even during his tour with Ry Cooder in 2009.

Lowe worked with many artists, including Dave EdmundsThe DamnedElvis CostelloPaul Carrack and The Pretenders. Also he was part of the studio project ' Little Village ' with John HiattRy Cooder and Jim Keltner.
