"One" is one of the best-known songs by Metallica.

James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich started in 1987 with the writing of "One". The song is from the album ...From 1988 And Justice For All. "One" was released as a single for the first time in 1989. Among other things thanks to the success in the Top 100 of all time (No. 1 in 1994), the song was again released as a single in 1994. Then became "One" a hit in the Netherlands with retroactive effect. "One" belongs, together with "Nothing Else Matters", "Enter Sandman" and "Master of Puppets", among the most famous songs by Metallica. The song lasts 7 minutes and 24 seconds and "One" is known by the story that is told, as well as by the Kirk Hammett 's guitar solo (the lead guitarist of Metallica). At One became the first video clip of Metallica made, for the most part in black and white. Both the video clip as the song itself going over a mutilated war veteran and the insanity of war. The original film images during the clip show, come from the movie Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo.
