Pat Benatar (original name Patricia Mae Andrzejewski10 January 1953) is an American singer who scored several hits in the 1980s. Benatar was admired by her powerful voice combined with its short length.

Pat Benatar, who was born in BrooklynNew York, originally studied opera-music. In 1971 , she married Dennis t. Benatar, making them the last name got with which they became famous. In 1977 her singing talent was discovered during a talent show in a New York club.

She divorced Benatar and later married the guitarist of her band, Neil Giraldo. They had two daughters.

In the 1980s, she scored some big hits, of which Love is a battlefield is the most famous. This number was from 1983 in Netherlands a number 1-hit. Between 1980 and1983 , she won four years running a Grammy Award for best female rockact. Later, she was still four times nominated for this category.

Benatar was later in her music career around an awareness-raising campaign spokesman hearing problems of the Energizer batteries manufacturer.
