[edit] Band Biography

The critically acclaimed indie-rockers Pavement were formed in 1989, although their commercial breakthrough occurred in the early-to-mid 1990s, particularly with their first hit, "Cut Your Hair", which was made fun of pretty well on Beavis & Butt-Head. Early shows were marked by the antics of Gary Young, who was soon ejected from the band, possibly for pulling a gun on Stephen Malkmus. The band called it quits in 1999, and singer Stephen Malkmus has gone on to release 3 albums with his band The Jicks. Scott Kannberg formed the Preston School of Industry. In 2007 Mark Ibold played shows with Sonic Youth
