[edit] Genre Description
Pop-Punk is punk music that typically has the politics removed and a stronger reliance on melody and sometimes juvenile humor. In a way, The Ramones were Pop-Punk, as a huge influence on them was the Phil Spector produced pop and R&B records of the 1960s, particularly the girl groups. Pop-Punk tended to break in the 1990s, and its reign continues today with a bunch of bands that sound like Blink-182, only, to some, worse.
