Rhino Handmade was started in 1999 to release re-issues and rarity compilations that might be of limited appeal. Every Rhino Handmade release is a limited edition, although sometimes releases will show up released by Rhino later in non-limited editions, sometimes changed, sometimes not. Like its parent label, Rhino Handmade will often release oddball collections, and like Rhino, its first release was also a Wild Man Fischer album - The Fischer King, a collection of everything he'd recorded for the label.
